These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and MaranBox ("we", "us", the "Platform"). By creating an account, browsing, buying, or selling on the Platform you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy, Returns & Refunds Policy, Acceptable Use Policy, IP & DMCA Policy and, if you sell, the Seller Agreement. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
MaranBox is an online marketplace that enables independent sellers to list, sell, and ship their own products to buyers. Unless an item is expressly listed by our own house store, we are not the seller, manufacturer, or supplier of items sold on the Platform. Each sale forms a contract directly between the buyer and the seller. We do not pre-screen, endorse, or guarantee any listing, seller, or buyer, and we are not a party to, and assume no responsibility for, disputes between buyers and sellers, although we may, at our sole discretion, assist in resolving them.
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to create an account. You are responsible for your credentials and for all activity under your account. Provide accurate information and keep it current. We may refuse, suspend, or terminate accounts at our sole discretion, including for violations of these Terms, suspected fraud, or legal risk to the Platform.
Sellers set their own prices, shipping terms and processing times. Taxes and shipping are shown at checkout where applicable. Payment for every order is processed directly by the seller through the seller's own payment-processor account (such as Stripe or PayPal). MaranBox is not in the flow of funds: we never receive, hold, or disburse your payment, and we never store full card numbers. Refunds for an order are therefore issued by the seller through that same processor — MaranBox may mediate a dispute and direct an outcome under our policies, but we cannot ourselves reverse a charge (see the Returns & Refunds Policy). All amounts are in U.S. dollars unless stated otherwise. Title and risk of loss for items pass from the seller to the buyer in accordance with the seller's shipping terms.
Buyers pay no fee to use the Platform. Sellers pay MaranBox a platform commission of 10% per sale, calculated on the item price plus shipping, minus any discounts, and excluding tax collected. Sellers on the Pro Store plan (US $25/month) pay 0% commission while the plan is active. Commission and subscription rates may change with 30 days' notice posted on the Platform or sent by email, and individual seller arrangements may vary by written agreement. You retain ownership of content you post (listings, photos, reviews, messages). You grant MaranBox a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, use, display, reproduce, adapt, and distribute that content for operating, marketing, and improving the Platform. You represent that you have all rights to the content you post and that it does not infringe any third party's rights. Reviews must reflect genuine experience; we may remove content that violates our policies.
You may not use the Platform to break the law, infringe intellectual property, harass others, post false or deceptive content, manipulate reviews or search, scrape data at scale, interfere with the Platform's operation, or circumvent fees by completing transactions off-platform that originated on it. The Acceptable Use Policy and Community Guidelines contain the full list, including prohibited item categories.
The Platform may link to or integrate third-party services (payment processors, shipping carriers, social sign-in). Their terms govern your use of those services, and we are not responsible for them.
THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT LISTINGS ARE ACCURATE, THAT ITEMS WILL MEET YOUR EXPECTATIONS, OR THAT THE PLATFORM WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MaranBox AND ITS OWNERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THE PLATFORM OR ANY TRANSACTION ON IT, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE PLATFORM WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US $100) OR (B) THE FEES YOU PAID TO MaranBox IN THE SIX MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless MaranBox and its owners, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from: (a) your content or listings; (b) your use of the Platform; (c) your violation of these Terms or any law; (d) your products, including claims for personal injury, product liability, or IP infringement; or (e) any transaction between you and another user.
Please read carefully — this affects your legal rights. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Platform that cannot be resolved informally will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. The arbitration will take place in California or remotely. YOU AND MaranBox EACH WAIVE THE RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL AND TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION, CLASS ARBITRATION, OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING. Either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court instead. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing support@maranbox.com within 30 days of first accepting these Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Where arbitration does not apply, the state and federal courts located in California have exclusive jurisdiction.
We may update these Terms by posting a revised version with a new "Last updated" date; material changes will be notified on the Platform or by email, and continued use constitutes acceptance. We may suspend or terminate the Platform or your access at any time. Sections 1, 5, and 8–12 survive termination.
